Πριν Χαθεί το ΚΟΚΚΙΝΟ:
BEFORE LOSING THE RED
BY TERZIS VANGELIS
It’s with pleasure that I suggest you to watch this new spearfishing DVD, filmed in the greek waters by my friend VangelisTerzis, a young artist from Crete who well interpreted the sea and the fishes’ habits making a movie full of great catches. On the cover it is written ΠΡΙΝΧΑΘΕΙΤΟΚΟΚΚΙΝΟ that means before losing the red, an original title to infer that the following 50 minutes will be entirely characterized by spearfishing actions in shallow waters.
Nowadays strong athletes fish in very deep waters at the limit of human capacities but Vangelis has been able to focus the attention to shallow waters and all that they can still offer in terms of catches and emotions. As the french champion Escaplez, Vangelis in this DVD will be able to shatter the most common ideas on the fishes’ habits showing you the biggest catches in a couples of meters depth.
Used as we are to see dentex caught on the shoals off the coasts, these spearfishing actions will give you stronger emotions right because it is very surprising finding so big fishes in such an unusual environment bringing back your memory to what our grand fathers could see diving in shallow waters.
With no soundtrack and unfortunately narrated in greek only, this DVD is destined to be famous for what I think is the best amberjack catch ever filmed. It all happens in few seconds…Vangelis is crawling on a shallow bottom, then he stops. A few meters in front of him three big amberjacks are madly feeding right below the surface.
Just a small rock between Vangelis and the big fishes, so he hides there and gets ready to shoot instinctively. For a few seconds the big fishes seems to have disappeared but very suddenly they start heading to the speargun and right before they hit it with their heads Vangelis shoots a 20 kilos specimen. For any further info, to order a copy of the DVD or just to check his artworks gallery you can contact him on facebook.
MANCHE ET ATLANTIQUE: BY MARTIAL COTTIN FROM QUIBERON TO SEINE MARITIME
Hundreds of big sea basses swimming peacefully in front of the speargun or below the spearo's fins in crystal clear waters, pollacks approaching quietly and schools of black breams, all that and much more on Martial Cottin's DVD!
In this documentary you will join Martial in his journey along the french coasts of the Channel and the Atlantic Sea, from Quiberon to Seine Maritime, to discover the best spots where the big ones live. Suggestions and explanations enrich the fishing actions made either off the coast or in shallow waters and filmed with the subjective technique by placing the camera below the speargun.
It lasts about 60 minutes, it goes smoothly and never annoys as the humor of Martial and of his mates make watching it really pleasant. You cannot avoid suggesting it as it well express the spirit of a fishing day out with good mates, perhaps you might watch it comfortably sat on your couch when it's too cold to dive!

MOZAMBIQUE: IN SEARCH OF GOOD TIMES DVD A GREAT SPEARFISHING JOURNEY
The greatness of this documentary stands in the message it gives and that it is summarized in its title. Right, because spearfishing is about the search of good emotions to live alone or with a good pal and this DVD well express the essence of this message. The spearfishing actions are well mixed with moments of interaction with locals in which the 3 speros understand some aspects of their living as cooking for example. In this documentary you can still enjoy great catches as a big sailfish and exciting but thrilling sequences of spearfishing among sharks. In the extras you can also find some interesting contents ranging from a lobster recipe to a mackerel fishing tutorial. This is a DVD with a different style in comparison to ours but local producers should learn from it… For further info click here
SAFE SPEARFISHING 2010 FREELY AVAILABLE ON INTERNET
Here are some of the topics covered: Blackouts A very nice footage divided in two parts for a total duration of over 50min, enriched with very interesting spearfishing actions in the exotic australian waters and really useful advices. Although it was shooted in a different marine environment and it refers to a different habitat it represents a sure advantage even for Mediterranen spearfishers, the only problem is that it is available only in english and it is not subtitled.
