PESCANDO A LA ESPERA 5

THE NEW CHAPTER BY PABLO AND CORONIL

We have been waiting for it to come out for over a year and now the new chapter of "pescando a la espera" is finally available. Pablo and Coronil signed the fifth DVD of a fascinating documentary series showing the wonders that the Strait of Gibraltar waters have to offer.

For those who have not had the opportunity to see the previous DVD’s, the spearfishing actions that our two Spanish friends show have as final objective the catch of large specimens of all main Mediterranean species. Fishes weighting 2 or 3 kilos are not even contemplated, you can amaze yourself with preys such as 7 kilos gilthead breams and dentex, 40 kilos meagres and finally groupers and amberjacks of equal weight.

The exceptionality of this footage does not rely on catching oversize fishes but in the (apparent) ease these actions are completed. They are so extraordinary that if they were not documented by a camera no one would be willing to believe that they really happened. Just like those bar-stories from fanatical fishermen. It 's all true instead!

The spearo goes down and just after touching the bottom he gets the visit of a large grouper, or the spearo goes down and starts inspecting a hole, then he lifts his head and a 45 kilos meagre is right there waiting for the shot.

They are all scenes that lead unequivocally the viewer to say, with a lot of envy, "just like it happens over here...".

Pablo and Coronil are keen to communicate to all those who will see this DVD that in this chapter they have learned from past constructive critics and have included all large size catches trying to convey what spearfishing in the Strait really represents, without forgetting the way they see things and their fishing philosophy.

“En esta ocasión intentando mejorar lo anterior y tomando nota de muchas críticas constructivas, hemos terminado un trabajo en el que hemos puesto toda la carne en el asador, mostrando en su mayoría piezas grandes y el como se pesca en el estrecho de forma purista, guardando siempre nuestra forma y filosofía de ver la pesca”.

A beautiful DVD that lasts about 67 minutes and is fully commented in Spanish but easy to understand with a little effort. We strongly suggest you to watch it.

REVES DE CHASSE

THE NEW DVD BY JEAN-YVES GISLAIS

Spearfishing dreams: no other title could have been more appropriate for this spearfishing DVD that merges both Atlantic and Mediterranean passionate in one single documentary. Yes, that's possible because it is shot in the waters of French Brittany and Corsica. This documentary by Jean-Yves Gislais, well known in the web as PlongeurFou, is the proof of his incredible underwater capabilities that allow him to successfully adapt to different sea beds, biotypes and fishes.

His extraordinary abilities are highlighted by his catches made between 0 and 20 meters depth, so quite accessible to the majority of freedivers. There's no need to dive into the abyss to shoot the fishes of our dreams if we have a great experience, this is the main message of the documentary.

The film has been divided into chapters according to the type of fish. Each chapter is called " dreams of ..." and indeed each of them seems to bring you into an imaginary submerged world. In the first two chapters we can enjoy catches of "dino-breams" and "dino-basses", as we refer to very huge specimens!

Filming is made through a camera operator and a camera mounted on the speargun in order to have both points of view. Unfortunately the sequences shot in Corsica were made with a camera mounted on a weak stirrup so after the shot it rotated downwards... what a pity ... but fine dentex compensate this problem.

The film lasts 1hr 17min and it is available only in French.

Bravo Jean -Yves!

DESEMBOCANDO EN EL AZUL 2 DVD

VERY DEEP SPEARFISHING IN GIBRALTAR STRAIT

Spain confirmed itself as a great producer of spearfishing DVD’s. The spanish region that overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar keeps sharing through these documentaries its breathtaking underwater landscapes inhabited by schools of king-size fishes, preys that any spearo would dream. This documentary does not disappoint as you can enjoy 59 minutes of grouper, snapper and amberjack catches performed beyond 30 meters depth with movable ballast technique.

In this DVD you can also enjoy some important catches (due to the size of the preys that exceeds 30 kilos) of groupers and amberjacks.

In opposition to other DVDs shot in the same region in which there is a great visibility, these scenes are often characterized by a lower one that by the way still allow to properly live the spearfishing actions.

They are predominantly filmed with the subjective technique thanks to a camera mounted on the speargun.

Just enjoy it!

PESCANDO A LA ESPERA 4

SPEARFISHING IN THE GIBRALTAR STRAIT

Another great adventure of our Spanish friends Pablo Sanchez Soler and Juan Jose Gomez Coronil who have finally produced the fourth episode of the series “Pescando a la Espera”.

They made spearfishing in the Gibraltar strait famous everywhere thanks to their several and huge catches. This DVD is in fact, as the previous ones, full of stunning catches. So forget about the bream and sea bass inshore fishing because with this film they will bring you off the coast to catch giant 40kg mulloways, majestic gilthead breams and groupers, defiant snappers and curious amberjacks.

The documentary is shot, as the previous ones, with MIDLAND and GOPRO cameras mounted on the mask. The footages are very clear and high quality and rarely refer to catches in conditions of limited visibility. Our friends have been supported in this project by the following companies: Tecnoblu, Low cost Boat, Abellan, Xfins.

The duration is 72 minutes and commented only in Spanish, so enjoy it.
